The Princess and the Cowboy

Halloween this year was low key. Gracie liked the candy but wasn't too enthusiastic about the holiday in general. She didn't quite get the whole concept so the main event was a trick-or-treating party held at Sean's clinic on Wednesday evening. The party was for employees and their families. The patient rooms in the clinic were decorated in festive Halloween decor for the kids to trick-or-treat through. On Halloween we only went to the neighbors (six or seven doors) mostly just to say we did.
Although- dressing up is always fun, even if nobody else sees you. This year Gracie was a princess/fairy. This was convenient because we had everything she needed for a costume (since she wears various pieces of the outfit daily). Kemp was a cowboy. We tried to do a photo shoot but it was SO HARD to get Kemp to sit still! I don't know if you can tell in the pictures, but he wasn't too happy that we kept putting him back in the same spot on the floor over...and over...and over.

Gracie had special sparkly makeup and stickers to complete her costume. She loved having ear rings. It almost convinced me to get her ears pierced.

Here she added a sticker to her nose. As well as makeup on her cheeks which looked more clown-ish so I wiped it off before picture time.
She can fly!

This is her angry face.

We only went to 6 or 7 houses too. Short and sweet! I think this is the only year we'll be able to get away with such short trick-or-treating. I love how happy Gracie looks!

Your kids are both getting so big! Kemp looks soooo adorable in his costume. He is such a cute little boy! He looks like he has a lot of personality. Hey, and only trick or treating in a few places means not very much candy. That's always a plus. I never know whether or not to be a good mom and only let them have a few pieces a day or to let them just have at it, get sick, and be done with it.

I love the costumes! You and I must think alike! Cambria got all dressed up in her Princess outfit, we took pix, and then she started undressing. It took a lot of effort to get her out the door to actually trick-or-treat! Silly babies.

They are so cute! Kemp looked like he enjoyed chewing on his horse. What a great idea to keep him in costume. I love Gracie's creativeness with her costume too.

i have always pondered the "piercing ears" concept... let me know if you reach any conclusions... i bet she LOVED having earrings. and um, Elaine, you and I both know that is NOT her angry face... ;)
glad it was a smash... great job on taking pictures! :)
